Chad served as the CEO of SimpliSafe until 2020, overseeing all facets of the company’s growth, including engineering, product development, supply chain management, contract manufacturing, direct marketing, brand building, operations, and finance. An electrical engineer by training, he also personally developed significant portions of the SimpliSafe product and backend systems. Chad currently serves as Chairman of the Board.

Eleanor led strategy for SimpliSafe for its first 13 years and continues to serve on its board. In addition, Eleanor has worked extensively in education, most recently as the CFO for the Boston Public Schools, where she oversaw the district’s $1.4B budget. She also spent eight years in the education practice of the Parthenon Group, working with districts, foundations, investors, and institutions of higher education. Eleanor is currently a member of the faculty at Harvard Business School where she teaches a course on climate entrepreneurship.

Lawren is a Partner, specializing in climate. Prior to joining Workshop, Lawren managed strategy and scaled new initiatives, products, and teams at The Athletic, a consumer subscription startup that was acquired by The New York Times. She began her career in investing with roles in private equity at Crestview Partners and in corporate development at Disney.

Mike is a Partner, specializing in the education sector. Mike has spent the last 17 years investing, operating and supporting startups across the entire ed-tech ecosystem, serving as the Director of Strategic Initiatives at Macmillan New Ventures, the Managing Director of Entangled Solutions, and as a Vice President at Guild.

Eddie is a Partner, specializing in the education sector. After graduate research in engineering, Eddie spent over a decade in schools as a teacher and school leader. Prior to joining Workshop, he supported district leadership teams and developed tech tools as a consulting manager at Education Resource Strategies.

Jason is a Principal Design Engineer, building across the stack from apps  to infrastructure.  Jason has spent over a decade designing and building highly scalable and fault-tolerant products and systems with millions of distributed IOT devices and app users.
